A little about me…..
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been creative. In kindergarten, I distinctly remember staying after class to finish my drawings because they weren’t quite “just right.” My mom worried I was falling behind, but my teacher reassured her that I simply cared deeply about getting the details right. That instinct has stayed with me. Whether I’m remodeling a home, painting a mural, choosing an outfit, planting flowers, decorating cookies, or working on a canvas, I feel most alive when I’m creating and refining until something feels “just right”.
Although I studied business and worked in advertising after college, creativity continued to weave its way through my life. After starting a family, I realized I needed a creative outlet to balance the rhythms of motherhood, so I began painting murals in friends’ baby nurseries just for fun. After moving to Louisville in 2009, I stumbled upon a local painting class that introduced me to oil painting— and I fell in love. I painted whenever I could, and little by little, doors began to open. What started as a hobby slowly grew into a career.
After more than sixteen years of painting and experimenting with different mediums and styles, I’ve settled into a “lay it on and leave it” approach, using big brushes and confident strokes. My work celebrates the way light interacts with pattern and color, resulting in pieces that feel fresh, joyful, and full of life.
As a self-proclaimed interior design enthusiast, I love creating artwork that truly belongs in a space. My process often begins by getting to know my clients and their homes — the personality, the mood, the way they live. From there, I translate that story into a painting with the right colors, textures, and scale. I believe art should be more than something that hangs on a wall; it should start conversations, transform a room, and ultimately become a cherished family heirloom.
I believe that if you have a God-given gift, it is an honor to share it. I feel incredibly grateful to open my home studio for oil painting classes throughout the week and to spend time alongside other creative minds. Teaching and connecting with others fuels me. I create not only to feel fulfilled, but to give, to serve, and to bring joy. Making others happy with my time and talent truly feels like the greatest gift of all.
