Week 5 of the One Room Challenge

Lighting update

We are in the home stretch of the One Room Challenge sponsored by Better Homes and Gardens and I am so happy to have installed the new sconce lights! These are just what I was looking for….a pop of orange with a modern lucite detail. These lights are Dutton Brown’s “Color Adore”, and that is a great name because I adore them!

This week’s work involved wrapping up a lot of lose ends and deciding on finishing touches (to be shown in the final reveal next week).

Saving more space….

Another update this week is the pocket door. I LOVE pocket doors in the right application. They leave virtually no footprint in tight spaces. Before the renovation, we had a normal door which swung into the bathroom and caused a lot of headache trying to get to the cabinetry it blocked. This pocket door has totally eliminated that problem. We used the existing door slab which was in great condition and had a new mirror inset. I love when things like this work out!
