Things are getting fun in the kids’ bathroom this week during the Better Homes and Gardens One Room Challenge! As I have mentioned already, I wanted to paint something custom for this space that would be both meaningful and pull all the colors together. This is a painting of one of my boys and my husband fishing. It is a good example of my chunky, abstract painting style. The frame is a white matte in finish, and I bought it from my go-to for frames, www.pictureframes.com. I love their selection, their quality, their reasonable prices and their ability to make custom sizes. A win all around! Below is a pic of the final painting and of the photo I used as my reference.
The wallpaper chosen is a performance grass cloth, and this means it has all the beauty and texture of grass cloth but it won’t be damaged from moisture like natural grass cloth would. I chose this cozy neutral to balance out all the crisp white and blue. Grass cloth is one of my favorite ways to warm up a room. It makes you feel like the room is giving you a big hug!
And lastly, the mirror wall. I decided on a wall to wall mirror to make this bathroom feel literally twice as big as it is. And I LOVE the outcome. More pics on this mirror below.
Oh, and how can I forget lighting? I am going to get more into that next week, but for now I will say that can lights were added to the ceiling and wall sconces are hanging above the vanity. These sconces aren’t as nice as I had imagined, so I am replacing them with something a little bit snazzier next week!
